The TWf has published a new guidance document on Temporary granular platforms for construction plant (including haul roads and general hard standings).
Working Platforms – Design of granular working platforms for construction plant: A guide to good practice.
The guidance was developed with industry-wide input and the support of sector associations including IGS UK and Federation of Piling Specialists, as well as support of major clients such as London Underground, Network Rail and Highways England.
The document does not replace current guidance but it is intended to supplement existing guidance and provide an overall approach that addresses the aforementioned issues.
The guidance is primarily aimed at temporary works designers, but is also useful for those in the procurement and use of granular working platforms.
