Joint meeting with Midlands Geotechnical Society. Assessing risk to buildings from landfill gases. In particular there will be reference to the recent CIRIA report C659 ” Assessing risk posed by hazardous ground gases to buildings” which consolidates the various earlier guidance notes on ground gas monitoring, risk assessment and building protection. The new ‘Code of Practice for Characterisation and Remediation from Ground Gas in Affected Development’ BS 8485 2007 will also be discussed.
