IGS has contacted the Association of Directors of Environment, Economy, Planning & Transport (ADEPT, http://www.adeptnet.org.uk/about-us.php ) and invited them to come and attend our symposium in April. For those of you that have not come across ADEPT previously, ADEPT is an umbrella organisation representing local authority county, unitary and metropolitan Directors responsible for ‘Place based’ services. Their remits include economic development, transport and communications, planning and housing and the environment. In other words, ADEPT represents or has access to key decision makers and exactly the audience that IGS is trying to approach and educate regarding the benefits of use of geosynthetics in pavement and broader civil engineering.
We are delighted to inform you that ADEPT will be supporting our Symposium by sending 2 representatives from ADEPT to join the IGS upcoming Symposium, namely Mr Parvis Khansari represent ADEPT’s Management and Engineering Board on the day and Mr Steve Betteridge of Lincolnshire County Council who will be representing ADEPT’s Soils and Materials Design Group.
Other than that, the response so far has been very good and places are filling up fast – thank you to the ones of you that have booked your place already! And for the ones who haven’t yet, there are still a few places remaining.
We truly hope to see as many of on 22nd April 2015 and help IGS to spread the word further about the benefits in using Geosynthetics in Pavements.
